In people with asthma, an allergic reaction to mold may trigger an attack. After the inspection, technicians will be able to tell how major or minor the mold growth is and also what type of mold is present. Mold exposure can prompt a severe asthma attack in people with asthma. About 5% to 10% of people will develop long-term complications. People exposed to dust storms and with compromised immune systems are most at risk of developing this condition.

Solved! What Does Black Mold Look Like?

Smell is not a good way to determine if there's a mold problem. The smell of indoor molds can differ depending on the type, the surface on which it's growing, and its source of moisture. It's more likely to be a problem if you have certain conditions, including mold allergies and asthma. And long-term exposure to large amounts of mold spores can cause a severe reaction. Any area in the home that is prone to moisture, such as the water heater closet, is a prime location for mold growth. The moisture and warmth created by the water heater provides the ideal conditions for mold to thrive.

Symptoms of Black Mold

You should search for certified mold removal specialists nearby your area who will conduct a step-by-step procedure to eliminate the mold completely. If you smell a wet and musty odor in your house, this could be a sign of a mold problem. The smell that reminds you of old books could be caused by volatile organic compounds released by mold during its life cycle. If you smell this odor from your flooring or walls, maybe you have a mold problem in your home. It can easily get trapped in porous materials such as foam or seat covers.

What questions should I ask a healthcare provider?

According to McElroy, one of the biggest challenges with mold is that mycotoxins can cause only some people to launch an inflammatory response. “This unpredictable response can go on for years after a long-term exposure in a susceptible individual,” she explains. There is always a little mold everywhere – in the air and on many surfaces. Once mold starts to grow in carpet, insulation, ceiling tiles, drywall, or wallboard, the only way to deal with the problem is by removal and replacement. EPA would like to thank Paul Ellringer, PE, CIH, for providing the photo of Mold growing on the back side of wallpaper.

Less frequently, black mold symptoms can include hives, wheezing, and shortness of breath. This article discusses the most common symptoms of black mold, rare symptoms, and when to seek medical help. Eliminate the sources of the mold from the environment but also eliminate common dietary sources of mold, including grains, coffee, and peanut butter.

Find out more about the signs of black mold in air vents and what next steps to take to get rid of it for good. You may suspect hidden mold if a building smells moldy, but you cannot see the source, or if you know there has been water damage and residents are reporting health problems. Mold may be hidden in places such as the back side of dry wall, wallpaper, or paneling, the top side of ceiling tiles, the underside of carpets and pads, etc. There’s no proof that mold toxins cause diseases in people, so you don’t need to detox after mold exposure. The best way to feel better if you have black mold allergy symptoms is to get out of the moldy environment and avoid any continued exposure.

Getting sick from mold exposure is something we might find interesting on our favorite medical show—but it’s not something any of us want to experience firsthand. Mold growth, which often looks like spots, can be many different colors, and can smell musty. Any mold should be removed and the moisture source that helped it grow should be removed.

Have a Professional Remove Mold in Your House

Your provider can perform an allergy test to see if you're allergic to mold. People with respiratory conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or asthma may experience breathing problems around black mold. Indoor molds can cause allergy symptoms year-round, while outdoor molds are more likely to cause symptoms in summer and fall. If you're allergic to mold, you can expect symptoms to start clearing up when you're no longer exposed. Mold allergy symptoms are likely to get worse over time and when you're in a damp, humid environment, such as a basement, where mold can flourish.

What to Wear When Cleaning Moldy Areas

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also notes a potential link of early mold exposure to the development of asthma in some children. Mold in the walls usually has a damp, musty scent, similar to what you'd smell after opening an old book. Some people might notice a sweet, tangy, or earthy scent that smells like wet socks or rotten wood. The mold smell is caused by mVOCs, which are substances naturally produced by molds as they grow. As someone who grew up with allergies, I’m vigilant about monitoring moisture inside my home.

This musty scent, reminiscent of old books or wet socks, signals the metabolic process of mold as it feeds on organic materials like wood, wallpaper, or carpet. While a mold smell in the house may not be pronounced at first, it is likely to become more pungent the more advanced the mold growth becomes. Inhaling or touching mold or mold spores can cause a person to become allergic to mold. Molds can trigger asthma symptoms including shortness of breath, wheezing, or cough in people with known allergies.

Those who are concerned about mold exposure affecting their health will want to consult a doctor or health care professional. While being around mold may cause minor effects for some, like a stuffy nose or coughing, it can cause stronger reactions in people with asthma, mold allergies, or weakened immune systems. As a tenant, you are expected to keep your dwelling clean and give attention to high moisture areas like bathrooms and kitchens. You should clean small amounts of mold or staining as described above. If mold growth is persistent or you identify any water leaks or damage, you should ask your landlord/superintendent to inspect and repair the problem(s).

To avoid mold in your house, take action to eliminate it yourself or hire a professional if needed. Mold growth doesn’t just impact the human inhabitants of a home. Pets often have heightened senses compared to humans and might detect and react to mold even before their owners notice anything amiss. They may begin to avoid specific areas of the house that they once frequented if they detect the presence of mold there. Physical symptoms that have no other apparent cause could also be a result of mold. Sometimes people can develop a fungal infection when they inhale mold spores.

All types of mold can potentially cause health issues and need to be removed. A top mold removal company is able to not only remove mold to address the existing growth, but it can also restore areas that have been damaged. These professionals use specialized equipment and techniques to identify the extent of the mold, remove contaminated materials, and ensure that the living spaces are once again safe. They will also take measures to ensure that mold does not regrow, such as fixing leaks and using dehumidifiers in high-humidity areas.

Although the cultural construct of tipping culture is still prevalent, we believe the practice is outdated. We firmly believe that the future of restaurants will reflect the international model, where staff is not reliant on gratuities from guests, and earnings are more stable. The service charge model is the first step in this process, and we hope to lead the way as progressive operators.

Located right in the main commercial district on Colorado Blvd, this order-at-the-counter spot has a long menu with everything from quinoa salads to tempeh BLTs to pulled pork plates. The crew is believed to have first struck in February 2022 when three of its members approached an armored car driver picking up cash from a Wescom Credit Union in Hawthorne. He forced the guard to the ground at gunpoint, FBI Special Agent Elizabeth Cardenas wrote in an affidavit. A string of daring daylight heists in Los Angeles where gang members held up armored trucks at gunpoint and got away with millions of dollars had played out like a Hollywood movie — but were recently busted by cops. In her affidavit, Delph said she discovered Young had been communicating with another person during the robberies on a number registered to Zeff Rocco, an East Coast Crip who’d done prison time for carjacking.

Smaller and fattier than baby back ribs, these are ideal when you simply aren’t in the mood to hover over the grill all day. El Cholo was the first Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles and the city even named a street after the founders Alejandro and Rose Borquez. Open since 1949, Eagle Rock Italian Bakery & Deli is a Northeast LA landmark where you can stop by for fresh-baked bread, imported giardiniera, and other Italian goods. But if you arrive at this to-go only spot hungry, go for the Italian combo sandwich.

The duck carnitas are a signature here, which has a lot to do with how their sweet fattiness soaks into the warm blue corn tortilla. We also love the baja fish, which comes with a giant piece of golden fried fish topped with cabbage and crema, as well as the crispy guisado de pato, a mixture of duck crackling and nopal that’s been stewed in a savory chile arbol salsa. The place is technically order-at-the-counter, but there’s a large adjacent dining room with TVs and a full bar if you want to hang out.

The publication noted that Charlotte was seen exiting Westminster Abbey, where the Queen's funeral took place, on Monday. She appeared to wipe tears away from her eyes while surrounded by other family members including her mother, Kate Middleton, and older brother, Prince George. ET did note that Charlotte appeared to be in better spirits after this moment. But, it's clear that this was a hard day for many members of the royal family. Following the memorial service, the late monarch’s coffin was marched to Wellington Arch by members of the royal family including King Charles III, Prince William, Prince Harry, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Princess Anne.

During a brief service honouring the late Queen Elizabeth II at Westminster Hall, Meghan Markle was seen paying her respects by doing a traditional curtsy - a moment shared by many of her well wishers via social media. Buckingham Palace household staff were also seen lining up to pay their respects to the Queen. The two-minute silence at the state funeral was a poignant moment in itself, and set the tone for the end of the service at around noon. Prior to the service, the Princess of Wales was also seen holding Princess Charlotte’s hand, and giving her a reassuring touch on the shoulder. Those invited to the State Funeral arrived at Westminster Abbey on Monday, September 19, before the service's commencement at 11am. They said they were more there to be immersed in the event and aren’t very pro-royal or anti-royal, which has been a large debate among young people.

Marshals Fugitive Task Force tried to serve felony warrants for Terry Clark Hughes Jr. at a home on Galway Drive. At the time, Hughes had warrants out from Lincoln County for possession of a firearm by felon and felony flee to elude (two counts). Alexis Piquero, a professor of criminology at the University of Miami who has researched crime and justice policy, said that when officers serve warrants at homes, “they have no idea what is on the other side” of a door. With the proliferation of high-powered rifles across the country, he said, the dangers for such operations have only increased. On Tuesday, much of the house was tattered and destroyed, with cracked bricks and splintered wood spread across the entryway. The second-floor windows were pierced, and bullet holes riddled the interior walls.

During the service, Charlotte was well-behaved, singing along to the hymns that were played in honor of The Queen. Kate kept a close watch of Charlotte and George throughout the day, as William had to take part in some separate Royal duties at certain parts of the proceedings. "She was by my side at my happiest moments. And she was by my side during the saddest days of my life," he continued.

Prince Harry was spotted looking emotional at the state funeral service for his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. On Monday afternoon, a deputy greeted Ms. Poloche at her home, bearing the news that her husband, a slightly reserved man who loved his two sons, had been shot while serving a warrant in Charlotte. “Just a few weeks ago I’m shaking his hand congratulating him for being officer of the month in our command center. Contributions may also be donated to the families of the four officers killed, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said Tuesday. "Contributions will be directed either to the family or as specified," the department said on X, formerly Twitter. Marshals Task Force officer were injured and are still recovering from their wounds.

Members of the public lined the road outside Hyde Park, to the background of music from the marching band and periodic gun salutes. Elyas Hussein, 45, traveled 125 miles from Birmingham, England, to watch the funeral on the big screen in Hyde Park. The Hyde Park viewing area was filled with hundreds of people, mainly in black and many of them holding British flags. Some were having full picnics, others dozing until the ceremony started.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's two eldest children were a late addition to the Westminster Abbey service and were confirmed by the palace only when the order of service was released the night before. The pair then gathered at Windsor Castle with members of the Firm for the Queen's committal service after the nation said farewell to the late monarch. And her brother George was seen singing The Day Thou Gavest, Lord, Is Ended as he stood between his parents. The young royals had arrived earlier in a car with Camilla and their mother, Kate. As they took their seats, Prince George also appeared to shed a tear for his beloved great grandmother.

King Charles III stood by during the moments of farewell, and appeared teary-eyed. The young royals solemnly stood with their mother and Sophie, Countess of Wessex following the funeral service. Charlotte attended the service alongside her older brother, Prince George, and parents.

The Queen's long journey to her final resting place - and to be reunited with the Duke of Edinburgh - began in Balmoral on the day of her death and will end with her interment at the castle's St George's Chapel this evening. Royal Family members attended the Queen's state funeral on Monday, bidding farewell to their mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. The royal siblings, great grandchildren of the Queen, were among 2,000 guests at her state funeral, joining their parents, world leaders and national figures from UK.

The officers were part of the Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force, an operation that draws from 16 agencies, including the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the state corrections department. “The last few days has been very tough,” Chief Johnny Jennings of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said at a news conference on Tuesday, pausing to collect himself and wipe tears from his eyes. The killing of the four officers in a usually quiet eastern neighborhood, where a running gun battle left people scrambling for cover inside their homes, stunned residents and brought anguish across the city. Princess Charlotte also inherited her grandmother's love for all things equestrian. In 2018, Paralympic equestrian Natasha Baker met with Middleton, who revealed her daughter's love of horseback riding. The Prince and Princess of Wales' only daughter was seen visibly upset as the family exited Westminster Abbey following the funeral, Entertainment Tonight reported. After attending Queen Elizabeth II‘s funeral, Princess Charlotte, 7, started to cry outside of Westminster Abbey on Monday, September 19. The MailOnline reports that Kate said he is 'sort of now realising how important his great-grandmother was and what is going on'.

The choir of St George's Chapel sang as a procession – including King Charles III, William, Kate, Prince Harry, Meghan, George, Charlotte, Anne, Andrew and Edward – followed the queen's casket into the abbey. The world watched as thousands gathered to attend Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday at Westminster Abbey, marking the official end of a historic 70-year reign. Kate reached out for George's hand as they exited their car and went into the service together as a family.

With this distraction, Belos attempts to crush them with his hand, but as soon as it reaches them, a giant hole is made through his hand right where the group stands. Then, to their amazement and Belos’ rage, in a circle of orange and purple magic, Luz reappears. After this, we return to Luz, Eda, and King showing The Collector their story. It’s a fun, funny and heartfelt series that celebrates individuality, family, kindness and creativity set in a creepy, vibrant world. But its legacy as such an unabashedly queer show is one of the primary reasons the show concluding after an especially short third season stings. Created by Dana Terrace, “The Owl House,” which is now available in its entirety on Disney+, follows Luz, a human teenager who stumbles into an alternate dimension known as the demon realm. A spunky, spirited fantasy lover with a penchant for getting carried away, Luz doesn’t quite fit in in the human world, so she decides to begin training as a witch rather than go back home.

In ‘A Man in Full,’ Jeff Daniels plays a real estate mogul whose life crumbles. Sound familiar?

Suddenly, the ground rumbles, and Amity tries to use her magic, but instead, she ends up covered in Abomination goo. Camila comforts her by telling her and all the other kids that they’re exhausted and that they haven’t slept in days. When they express their worry over Luz, she tells them that she’s a Noceda, and that means, “She’s way too stubborn to let any of this get her down.” Then, with a pencil and pad in hand, she tells them that she knows a way they can help even without their magic. To the horror of everyone on The Boiling Isles, gray fungus-like flesh starts quickly covering everything in Bonesborough, as if chasing the residents. Belos is taking over The Titan, growing an enormous monster form out of the flesh, with which he begins blasting the Isles with magic. This beam is what the group is hiding from when they arrive at the castle.

This is due to Luz's three-year contribution to rebuilding the Isles, meant to cover her 15th, 16th, and 17th birthdays to make up for her hard work. While surprised by the macabre nature of the style, Camila compliments their hard work. King then thrills Luz by sketching a different version of the light glyph and summons light.

The pacing was great, the animation beautiful, and the story and its conclusion were so satisfying. As usual with my reviews, to make things easier, I will be discussing the episode in order from beginning to end. As one last surprise, King reveals the Collector was in the area and wanted to do something special for Luz.

Although I don’t have any proof, I believe if I hadn’t seen the trailer, although it wouldn’t change the latter issue, it may have made the pacing feel better, as everything would be new. Also, What Nightmare Amity and Willow say to Luz doesn’t carry as much weight as Gus and Hunter’s conversations with her. The latter two make much more sense, as, in a way, they’re true.

When Luz thinks she has gotten away, the area suddenly blackens, a spotlight shines upon Luz. She finds herself on the Hexside gymnasium stage, to an audience of the school's students and faculty. He then calls Luz a hypocrite for keeping him from seeing his dad despite everyone helping her get back to her mom, prompting boos from the audience.

The trio overcome each game and defeat the Collector, who gradually becomes frustrated after each round. After triumphing in every game, Luz notices the Collector nearby, who is visibly upset. Although Eda is defensive about Luz going to talk to him, King assures her to trust Luz. Seeing the Collector upset, Luz tells the Collector he can't keep the games up forever, but the Collector confesses all he wanted was a friend who will never lie or betray him.

Once he is gone, Belos retrieves a blue star from the Collector's nightstand, remarking that succeeding in his goals will be easier than he thought. More specifically, she sacrifices herself to save the Collector, after Belos has fully possessed the dead body of the Titan and is infecting everything and everyone with some fungus-like growth out of The Last of Us. As the mushroom growth consumes her, she looks wide-eyed at King and Eda and confesses that she doesn’t know what to say. And then she’s gone, all that’s left of her some little orbs of light that float around the Boiling Isles, visiting all of the other characters.

In the episode "Echoes of the Past", King is revealed to not be the king of demons. Eda found him as a toddler on an island, being watched over by a strange amorphous creature that she managed to evade. While raising him, she unintentionally convinced him he was the King of Demons. King then sends Luz and her friends away to the Human Realm to protect them from the Collector's games.[16] As he spends time with the Collector as his chosen playmate, King comes to understand that he is misguided rather than malicious and discourages Eda and Lilith from attempting to reimprison him. Upon Luz's return, King and Eda reunite with her and aid her in befriending the Collector and destroying Belos once and for all. In the epilogue, King's developing Titan powers allow him to create a new glyph system, which he begins to teach Luz.

Meanwhile, Amity, who we saw slightly move her hand in an earlier scene, draws a light glyph on the floor of The Archives, awakening herself and the others, minus Camila, who hangs on a wall nearby. We come back to Luz, King, and Eda attempting to catch up on everything that’s happened since their separation. Soon The Collector appears, questioning King on why he would choose to play with these “spiders” instead of him. They try to explain to them that trapping, scaring, and controlling people isn’t fun, but they state that when toys break you, “just fix them.” It’s this comment that makes Luz realize that The Collector doesn’t realize what death is. The Collector then dismisses her question and puts the three of them into more games, during all of which they manage to mildly hurt them, making them end the games and cry in the corner of the floating cube. Here Luz starts a conversation with them, and they express to Luz their want of friends who won’t lie or trick them, like King, Belos, and even their own siblings had.

Luz, Eda, and King encounter resistance within Belos' twisted forest, working and combining their powers to break through the waves of mold. They then see the Titan's left arm rising up, so Luz flies them up for a view of what's going on. Back at the Archive House, the kids help rescue the puppet citizens with glyphs made by Camila. However, the Archive House then descends, bringing everyone down with it.

The Titan assures he is, since she is the only one here and seems to be a good witch, but she's the one who has to choose to accept it, reaching out his hand to her as he asks her if she will choose. A glowing orb appears around Luz, and she is lifted into the air. Before she can depart from the realm, the Titan warns Luz that his power will not last long, and she will have to defeat Belos fast, however Luz asks him if there is anything she can say to King for him. The Titan whispers a message into her ear, to which Luz excitedly remarks he will love it.

But he believes that everyone who claims to be a friend inevitably lies, like King, Belos, or his own siblings, the Archivists. The Collector elaborates they sent him to the Demon Realm years ago to play "hide and seek" with the baby Titans; there, the Collector bonded with the infant Titans, but his siblings saw the race as a threat and decided to purge the Titan race. Meanwhile, the Collector was trapped by the Titan who mistook him for an enemy.

Truly afraid, the Collector apologizes and shows empathy, causing him to cry for the first time over the chaos he has created and reacts in confusion to the tears he is producing. The Collector tries in vain to brush it off before Belos then slams the three of them with his hand. However, a purple light blasts through it and the three find themselves unharmed. Stringbean awakens and flies to the figure standing in the dust, parting to reveal Luz, who is now imbued with Titan magic, taking on Titan-like features.

Amity and the rest of Luz’s friends are shell-shocked in the moments before they rally. Most heartbreakingly, Luz’s mother Camila — who is still trapped in a frozen puppet form — sheds a tear. Amity Blight (voiced by Mae Whitman) is a student at Hexside; she is an abomination expert and works part-time at the Bonesborough Library. Initially, she appears to be an petty and cold-hearted top student, who bullies those she feels are inferior to her. This leads Luz to challenge her to a witches' duel, which will determine whether Luz will continue witch training. However, when Amity is exposed of cheating on Lilith's part, she runs off and lashes out at Luz, accusing her for humiliating her in front of the Emperor's Coven and embarrassing her at school, while lamenting how much pressure she puts on herself to be the best.

The kids notice other puppet victims, among which include Lilith and Camila, whom Gus attempts to free. However, Amity pauses for a moment, as she realizes Luz is not there with them. Luz activates the glyph and wakes up inside of a galaxy-like pocket dimension filled with toys.

The group travels to the throne room, where Belos is fused with the heart. Luz flies up to him and begins pulling Belos out, but Belos summons moldy tendrils to defend himself. Eda, King, and Raine help keep the mold at bay, while Luz continues her effort.

This makes him realize that Belos will soon have control over his entire body. This prompts him to offer his last bit of life to Luz, so she can defeat Belos. At first, she asks him whether he’s sure he wants to give the power to her, but he calls her a good witch and, with a hand full of glyphs, gifts her the last of his power. As King’s dad is talking over her, trying to tell her things to do or things to tell others, Luz is trying to interrupt him to ask him something.

He has acquired the ability to empower the glyphs again, creating a new language of glyph magic for Luz to master. In the ruins of the castle, Raine, Eda, and King pop out from the ash unharmed. Nearby, Luz looks on as the remnants of Belos' sludge slowly reconstruct into the form of Philip Wittebane, as he was when he first met Luz. In a last-ditch attempt at deception, "Philip" expresses gratitude, claiming that he was afflicted by a horrible curse from dark magic, attributing his actions to its influence warping his sense of right and wrong. Nonetheless, "Philip" insists that all he wants now is to make peace with her. As he says this, rain clouds form above them and the boiling rain starts melting "Philip" while Luz is unharmed.

There, the Collector notices Matt, Jerbo, and another student are hiding. The Collector flies down to them and offers to play grudgby together, but the students run away in terror. Disappointed, he asks the trio to take him somewhere different, and picks a photo of the Knee. They visit the Knee, which Luz states was where Eda helped Luz make a connection with the Isles. King clarifies Luz didn't force anything, and Luz explains people are complex, but sometimes it takes kindness and forgiveness.

Other characters

This leads The Collector to explain their backstory to the trio. Outside, Belos crash-lands at the entrance to his castle, Raine continuing to struggle against him. Raine musters enough strength to whistle a wave of bard magic that ejects Belos entirely. In the time Raine takes to recover, Belos escapes into the castle. Realizing what Belos plans to do, Raine follows him in and reaches the throne room armed with a violin. Belos' voice then echoes in the room asking Raine what the heart really is; subsequently, Belos emerges from the cracks on the ground and envelopes Raine in sludge as Belos' main body crawls to the heart.

Most of the emotional groundwork has already been laid this season. This episode uses all of that as a launchpad, catapulting Luz back to Eda and King as they save the day. Kikimora (voiced by Mela Lee) is Belos' minion and essentially his secretary, often fighting people or giving out orders.

I love where all the characters ended up after the time skip, especially everything Hunter related, and I love that they managed to get rid of the sigils. Outside of the show itself, I love that they managed to say goodbye to both The Collector and us at the same time. I will certainly be rewatching it, and hoping for more content in the future, whatever form it takes. Instead, we’re back in the Archives with the other kids and Camila, who has finally awoken from her puppet state.

Her answer comes from Amity, who tells her that everything is her fault because she helped Belos meet The Collector, and thus she is the true villain, and that it’s her job to take Luz down. She then pursues Luz, who, not wanting to fight her girlfriend, flees. On April 9th, 2023, “Watching and Dreaming” premiered, concluding the series. I’m sure we all wish it could have lasted longer, and I’m sure there are things we all wish could have been done if there was more time. However, I’m sure also that many, if not all of us, can agree that, despite the limitations Disney placed on the Owl House crew, this was a wonderful finale.

She, Eda, and King tell the Collector about their story, which means revisiting familiar haunts and recounting memories. It’s typical finale fare, giving both the characters and the audience one last romp through memory lane. With depleted powers and one grey eye each, they, Luz, and King are now essentially on the same level, up against a powerful force working on something deeply sinister (it looks like the door to the human world, but there’s a lot more construction occurring around it). It’s a little silly to think that Luz could legitimately re-teach Eda magic, partly because Luz still needs something physical to draw runes on, and partly because, as the show established, the inhabitants of the Boiling Isles function off of magically differently.

"Watching and Dreaming" is the third and final episode of the third season of The Owl House, and the forty-third episode overall, serving as the finale of the series. At the height of his career and powers, Japan’s master fixer, who has guided politicians and business heads through some of Japan’s biggest scandals, discovers that fixing his family is harder than fixing a country. It's time to grab some Apple Blood and Hex Mix and snuggle up with your Palisman, because The Owl House is returning to your crystal ball, just in time for spooky season. TV Guide can exclusively reveal that the series will debut the first of its three finale specials on Oct. 15. Of course, “The Owl House” is more than a collection of representational milestones.

At one point, a search dog was used to comb through the wreckage for additional victims, but it was determined there was no one else inside. “I figure it might have been something in my backyard it was that close," Razo said told KSBY. "I thought maybe a gas tank blew from a barbeque I had the weekend before. Everyone was curious, scared, wondering, asking a thousand questions."

Two were taken to Marian Region Medical Center, and one possibly to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Officials say Santa Barbara County is providing an excavator and a search dog to search for any remaining victims in the rubble. One of the injured was extricated from an adjacent home, and two others were in the home behind the one that exploded. City officials still aren’t releasing details about the status of the four people injured by the blast. The home in the 1200 block of Jackie Lane was rocked by an explosion just after noon Wednesday.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Investigators remain on the scene of a home explosion in Santa Maria that destroyed two homes, injured at least four people, one critically, and damaged several homes in the Hancock Village neighborhood. There were multiple sources of ignition identified capable of igniting the natural gas, according to the City Fire Marshal. Windows were boarded up and notices were tacked to door frames identifying some homes as uninhabitable Thursday morning near the site of an explosion  that destroyed a Santa Maria home and injured four people. Santa Barbara County Fire also provided a search dog to help clear the incident and allowed Santa Maria officials to move forward in their investigation process. City of Santa Maria fire investigators say an open natural gas outlet led to the blast.

Joyce Lippman, also a resident of Hancock Village, said fortunately the damage to her house was minimal. Lippman said she was in the middle of a Zoom training meeting when the explosion occurred. Scott Davis, a resident of Hancock Village where the explosion occurred, provided video from his home security camera that captured glass shattering and the thunderous boom caused by the blast.

He said at least four people were transported to local hospitals to be treated for injuries. City spokesman Mark van de Kamp told Noozhawk "the blast blew out windows in 10 adjacent homes." The property at 1223 Jackie Lane sustained an estimated $425,000 in structural damage. It had $75,000 worth of destroyed or damaged belongings.

They say a number of sources could have accidently triggered the explosion. Authorities now say a natural gas leak was the cause of an explosion which rocked a Central Coast neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, injuring four people. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, though officials suspect it may have been caused by a gas leak, the Santa Maria Times reported. A KSBY News crew at the scene says at least one home appears to be completely destroyed, while neighboring homes sustained broken windows and debris is strewn across the neighborhood. Damage estimates for the other 22 damaged homes are still being determined, he said. On Wednesday, the city said about 10 homes had windows blasted out by the explosion.

A stucco wall from the gutted house is on the ground, after being thrown about 100 feet. There’s debris for hundreds of feet around the blast site. Joe Cedillos says he is also having inspectors come by the neighborhood to examine the extent of the damage. He says an exterior fence will soon be installed around the perimeter of the area.

A house in the 1200 block of Jackie Lane was reduced to rubble in an explosion Wednesday afternoon. Southwest Gas says an employee responded to the scene and turned off the gas. The company also say they inspected the site and found no gas leaks. The explosion comes less than two weeks after a home explosion near Pittsburgh that leveled one home and engulfed two neighboring houses in flames, killing six people.
